Jim worked to get the boat read for our tour and I went about draining the freshwater from the coach and refilling it with fresh well water. I also put Shorty's rear wheels up on riser blocks, since Lynn had a bit of trouble sleeping last night due to the "slope". Me, I could sleep on an inclined plane.
Jim, Lisa and Andrew hauled the boat downstream a short way and launched her for the season. They came back and picked up the rest of us for the "voyage"
We went upstream where the boys found the hanging tree-rope and did a bit of swinging while Lisa and I snapped a few photos. Then, we were surprised by a visit by the local sheriff, who checked us out. But, that's a story for another time by the campfire...
We got back home and I was drawn to the coach and indulged in a nice nap. By the time I had awaken, Jim and company had brought the boat back and had it stowed in the garage. Jim must leave at five AM tomorrow to get back to Spokane to work. We, on the other hand, will leave for a two day trip to Lisa and Rich's in Auburn. We'll take a scenic circuitous route there so we don't miss what we haven't seen for awhile
Dinner was tip steaks marinated in some-kina wine and garlic roasted potatoes with green salad. Yummmmm... Followed, of course, by Lynn's latest dish, Huckleberry Buckle. Viv would say "hockleberry", which just tickled me, since she sounded like a little Russian...
I'm doing what you see, while some of the others are playing cards. It's been a wonderful visit to a beautiful area. We entered our twenty-seventh state this year when we came back to Washington. What a beautiful land we have and what a grand way to see it.
