It had rained most of the night, but quit long enough for me to remove the leveling blocks from Shorty, wind up the extension cord and stow everything.
Our trip today was nearly two hundred miles. It rained or misted off and on, with the sun making an appearance by the time we had reached Wausau. We had some confusion in finding Marathon Park, where we now are staying. The park is huge, more of a fairgrounds than a simple park. There are ice rinks, a curling venue, trails, pathways for bicycling and walking and a whole raft of other things
Since we have no internet here, either via WiFi or the Droid, you’ll be getting this a bit late. I tried.
Lynnie prepared her delicious Mostaccioli, which we had along with fresh Chinese salad. After we did the dishes, we took a moderate walk through the park. This area was a dedicated park during the lifetime of her great-grandfather, the Reverend Wilhelm Friedrick Hudtloff, who lived until 1881.
Tomorrow we’ll venture out of town in search of Big Hill Cemetery and find the gravesites of both Wilhelm Friedrick and his first wife, Lynnie’s great-grandmother. Fredericka Wilhelmina Ernistina nee Rusch. Aka Great Gram. We’re on a mission and no Hudtloff shall remained unturned in our quest.
