Here we are again… An unbelievable day, even more so than usual.  We had a most circuitous trip from Dutch Cousins Campground.  Our goal was Promised Land State Park in east central Pennsylvania.  We must have been led to at least twelve different highways.  Plus a few round-about routes that the Ozzie and Hussy dreamed up.  It could have been very frustrating, but I decided when I arose this morning to have a positive day.  It worked.  We eventually found this most beautiful campground.  Only this section, Beechwood Area is open so far.  There’s no water or dump site open yet, it’s so early.  Only a few campers are here and is is oh, so, quiet.  We noticed lots of birds on our drive to site number three.  There are lots of trails here too, so we may get a chance to get some good shots to share with you.

Spring is barely here in the Pocono Mountains of Pennsylvania.  Only minimal leaves can be seen, but there are some coniferous trees here too.  The earth is heavily clad with last years leaves, which help give early warning to the various birds and beasts.  You couldn’t walk a foot without alarming any of them.  It’s partly cloudy and in the mid seventies with a light breeze.  We’re happy to be off of the road and relaxing in such a peaceful place.  I hope that we decide to spend two nights here, so we can hike some tomorrow and have more to share on the blog.

It’s great to be away from the metropolitan areas for a change.  We still have a couple of hundred miles to go before we reach our destination, Preston, Connecticut.  We’re taking our time now and trying to “smell the roses”, instead of the exhaust fumes.

Oh, before I forget… Speaking of the Poconos, is this where the movie,“Dirty Dancing”, was set?  Or was it in the Catskills or?  No googling on this one…

By the way, we saw only one Amish buggy today and it was moving to fast for me to drive and get a photo at the same time.  Although we’re deep in Amish Country, not many of the folks were visible.  Maybe tomorrow...

I put three copies of the Foggy Morn photo from our last place, Dutch Cousin CG.  Also three different views of the sunset.  If you have any comments, lemme know.
