We actually did get an early start today.  We broke camp by nine-fifteen and were on the highway by about nine-forty five.  It had been quite windy yesterday, with a front coming through the area.  By today, it was cooler and much calmer.

Our trip today was just a shade over two hundred miles, as planned.  After a couple of hours on the booooring I-16, I asked Lynnie to plan us an alternate route on state and county roads.  It took us probably an extra thirty miles and an hour or so extra, but she did a grand job.  We drove on roads almost devoid of traffic with amazing views of spring breaking in central Georgia.  We passed through many small towns and saw more of what Georgia is all about.  I came across a quote today that seems fitting:  Charles Kuralt said with the Interstate Highway System in place, it's possible to drive all away the country and see nothing.  I would agree, especially after some of the great "diversions" we have experienced.

We are now at High Falls State Park, utilizing our "free pass" to a night's camping.  It's a beautiful place, as have been so many of the campgrounds we have visited over the last three months.  It's covered with hardwoods.  The sun shining through the new leaves gives it a beauty that we truly appreciate.  It's a blessing seeing spring actually begin when it's scheduled.  A rare, but not impossible, experience in the north country.

We're headed tomorrow to a campground near Lynn's brother Tim's home of Canton.  We'll stay there for five nights and explore, visit and relax.  We've heard that it's a beautiful place and look forward to seeing it firsthand.  It's nearly "Suppah Tame", so I'll upload some photos and get this out to you.
