Where I stayed
Nephew James' Driveway, Number Two
The road we took from the park wasn't too bad. The railroad crossing was easy when I took it easier. We got back on to Hwy 90 and proceeded through many small towns. Signs of the storm were obvious. Puddles of water and a new thing for us: sand drifted on the highway from the storm. It was quite interesting driving along this coastal road. Beautiful, sweeping beaches of white sand dominated the landscape. The traffic got a bit crazier as we proceeded east. We've become accustomed to the "fine individuals", but it's always a bit of a surprise when one surfaces. No close calls today though. God is Good!
Our GPS Hussy did lead us astray, however, telling us to turn onto a dead end, narrow dirt road with NO turnaround
James just showed up and we're having a great visit. We decided that it's been about ten year since we've seen each other... He reminds me a lot of his father, my brother, Dick. The same sense of humor and such. Lynnie fixed baked codfish with bleu cheese, a recipe of Lisa's. It was a real treat having our first "dinner guest" in the motorhome. We had a great visit with lots of humor and shared stories about family, many of which neither of us had ever heard before. James works in marketing for a casino in Gulf Port. We made plans to meet for dinner tomorrow night, Thursday, at a casino here in town. We'll go about our usual exploring tomorrow.
