The site was a bit sloped, so I got a chance to try out our bright orange plastic lego-type blocks
There's a short half-mile (as opposed to a longer one) trail just a bit off from our site, which we took twice. Yes, a whole mile walk for us today. The views, as with most everywhere we've been, are spectacular. I got shots of two birds and a couple of close-ups of the flora. In getting the Teddy Bear Cactus close-up, I had a brief encounter with it and ended up with a few needles imbedded in my right arm. I swear that it jumped at me and did the job. I'm amazed at how difficult it is to remove these needles. No harm, no foul, however. We'll spend at least two nights here, resting up from whatever and doing some hiking. We'll have to hit a laundromat soon, so may go into Mesa and get it done. For your info, the Droid phone has a Places app, which you can configure to find most anything. It's tied in with the GPS, so it's easy to find places. The Navigation App leads you right to it... if you listen. The key word there is LISTEN. Works for me. Lynn is getting better at doing so and thus we have fewer U-Turns to negotiate with Shorty. It's in the 70s as I write this at around four PM. Hope you are all well and living life to the fullest. We love you all and hope to hear from you soon...
Phone/Text/Email/Smoke Signals... it all works for us. 'Til Later...
Update: Lynn is making a loaf of Irish Soda Bread to serve with our Feta Greek Salads tonight. I'll let you know how it turns out. If you'd like the recipe, just email me. Hasta la vista!
