Thursday 3/22 - We (Vanessa, Megan, Melissa, and I) left the London Victoria Bus Station at 11pm and started our 9 hour journey northwards to Edinburgh, Scotland.
Friday 3/23 - After little sleep, and one stop. The bus arrived in Edinburgh around 8 something am. We walked around the city towards our hostel, got there, and couldn't check in until noon. So we ended up going into their lounge and just sleeping on the couchs until noon. After which we got in our room, and then walked around the city, I bought a pretty dress I fully intend to wear on my journey home. We ended up getting dinner at an Indian restruant I had this spicy prawn dish and a smoothie made with pineapple, coconut, and cinnamon. We had some sweet bread also. We passed around the other dishes so I got to try Vanessa's chicken, Melissa's lamb, and Megan's rice dish as well. I hadn't had Indian food, but now I love it!
Saturday 3/24 - We headed off in the morning to spend the day up hill a little ways at Edinburgh castle. The place is AMAZING! We had a sunny day and could see out to the ocean. There is so much to see there it is unreal. I didn't realize a lot of the historical things that had happened there either so overall it was very educational. If you ever get to Scotland go there! After the castle we spent some time at the Royal Museum of Scotland, if you have facebook you that's where all the crazy pictures of us trying to pull ourselves up, and Vanessa dressed as a Roman soldier came from. After that it was dinner at the Castle Arms Pub, where I had pasta with mushrooms and ham, and tried my share of the haggis. Not my favorite dish in the world, that's for sure. We ended the night with a haunted walk, we went to Mary King's Close, and journeyed into parts of the city that are buried under ground. We heard stories of witches, plague victims, and ghosts. It was rather entertaining...although not so scary.
Sunday 3/25 - Sadly our last day in Scotland. We woke up, at breakfast, and headed off to the bus station. Back onto the bus for our 9 hour journey, and through the train system back to Teddington. I unpacked, and watched a movie with Jared Leto about Steve Prefountaine. It was an interesting flick.
