After a 4 hr taxi followed by a 4 hr coach we arrived in Puerto Viejo, a carribean surfer town close to the Panamanian border. The long journey proved well worth it as we were greeted by blue skies, warm sea and sunshine! Love the Carribean. As its the low season the nightlife was a bit dead but still managed to stay out in a reggae bar till early o clock in the morning. Btw dont expect to hear songs about anything other than ´Jah´ or ´Ganja´. The next couple of days consisted of beaches, bodyboarding and a mammoth bike ride, mainly owing to the fact that my chain fell off every bump or stone I went over (Note, before anyone asks why I didnt change it at the start - it didnt happen till we had travelled several km).
All of us really enjoyed Puerto Viejo, especially tan-hungry Hemant. However the Costa Rican adventure couldnt last forever and we left on the 20th and crossed the border into Panama ready for Rahul´s birthday partying!
