I looked around the town a bit in the morning but didn't see a lot of interest and returned to the ship for lunch. My afternoon tour was on a glass bottom boat
It was a casual night on the ship with an elegant dinner in the main dining room (I had the salad entree (featuring chicken breast, fruit, and walnuts), beef broth and apple tart a la mode. We had our cruise critic meet and mingle between dinner seatings in Palm Court with about a dozen in attendance, so I finally got to meet Crickette, Anne Marie, and others. We were joined by Crystal Society Hostess Jaque Brown. I stopped briefly at our travel consortium reception in Pulse, followed immediately by the evening's entertainment next door in the Stardust Club. Pianist Philip Wojciechowski (pronounced nearly "Where's your house key" per Gary Hunter) gave a concert "A Musical Journey from Chopin to Gershwin". Featured music included selections from Mozart and Rachmaninov along with some American standards and a wonderful jazz arrangement of a Bach Fugue.
Today's parting shot comes from some remarks of Mr. Wojciechowski. He spoke of Bach's spirit and willing to improvise as being in the spirit of today's jazz. Not just with music but in life we try to draw boundaries and segregate things in boxes. How much richer life is when we recognize the relationships of things and work with what we have in common with other people and other concepts.
