16 Feb 80 Deadheading on flight deck of Twin Otter flight to Nepalgunj a town in the far west of Nepal in the Terai. The Terai is the name for the southern most region of Nepal. It is actually part of the Gangetic plain and is only about 300 ft. above sea level. Very different from the Pahad and Himal regions. The Pahad is name given to the Hill region. These 'hills' rise to 14,000 ft above the sea. the Himal region consists of the high Himalays, usually associated with Nepal.
