Training completed Nepali language test passed we returned to Khatmandu for swearing in by the Ambassador at his home. He provided us with a lavish reception.

Also treated to excellent dinner and Vodka at ?? famous restaurant of Russian ex pat. author of "Tiger for Breakfast" Special celebration with Trish.

The Embassy staff invited the PCVs to their homes for Christmas cheer and dinner. I went to Richard Boem's second to Ambassador. Kept up an acquintance with him for two or three years. He became Ambassador to Cyprus I think.
