At last overcame procrastinating. Booked my ticket to SDQ [Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic] and limo to JFK, noon departure arrive SDQ on sched about 4 PM. Taxi to Bettye's Hostel and meet John Goulet, boss man.

Now Monday 5 May 08/ In Stromness, Orkney Islands, Scotland.

Briefly left DR, April 25, plane change at JFK arrive Dublin Ireland, 26th. Bus to Cork via Galaway, etc. Then ferry from Rosslare, Ireland to Fishguard Wales, Swansea, to Bangor, Wales. Four days there, then train to Glasgow. Bus to Inverness then Scrabster. Ferry to Stromness, Orkney Is.

Tomorrow ferry and bus back to Inverness and Glasgow where I pick up the ridiculously heavy, bulky pack I left at the Alexander Thomson Hotel there. Maybe meet Izzie briefly in Chester, England then probably to Amsterdam then France.

More another time.
