Well, by the time you've filled in the bits of the infernal Green Form that you hadn't spotted on the back of it and gone through the lengthy interview you get at customs/immigration, more than a quarter of our time had gone.
Thence to bag-screening. What fun!
So don't worry, America! You're anti-terrorist measures are working brilliantly!
By the time we'd done all that and hiked the 20 miles to the gate, the plane was boarding. So 2 hours is about the minimum feasible time for a connection at Chicago!
As we passed the cockpit, there was a discussion ensuing about English football. I have a video of this, but will wait until I'm home (or stumble across a free, high speed net connection somewhere) before uploading it.
Suffice to say, those guys rocked.
This flight was a lot shorter, at about 2.5 hours, but we'd already been on the go for... hang on, I need to work this out... [Chicago is 6 hours behind, it was 1500 which is 2100 GMT, minus 0530 is a hard thing to do when you're jetlagged and struggling to keep your eyes open. I think I'll go to bed and pick up again in the morning]...
...for 15.5 hours, so we were only half an hour into the flight before "When are we there?" started. But he wasn't tired. Oh no. So there was no way we were going to get him to snooze. Still, Mario and Sonic managed to keep him entertained. Just.
I am so not looking forward to a long trip back...
