Lovely backpackers here! Great setup.. Think its 60 or 70 rand a nite.. Cheap enough!
So 1st day went cycling into town with an american to have a gander around.. And also to help suss out the bikes coz a fewa us decided to do a bike tour the following day.. The bike i had was alrite, thought gears changing was a bit dodge at first but went ok so over the while that was cycling so kinda forgot about it then..
Neway next day got up 7.30ish had brekkie and by 8.30 the 5 of us were ready to leave. Brought to the top of the Mtn range and were to cycle 53km over the day.. To take in a visit to Cango Caves (deadly - see picts) and an Ostrich farm and Wildlife farm.. Didnt quite work out that way thou.. well it is africa!! Read on to find out why! :D
At topa mtn it was windy as fuk and raining a bit... Stopped raining but was SO windy we were getting blown off the road. Wed cycled down the most sceinic bit whihc was a bit more sheltered and urman was drivin the minivan and bike rack thing behind us to make sure we were ok etc etc.. neway, so he sed he'd drive us to the caves and we could cycle from there.. Glad we got the lift thou coz it pissed rain from the mtns down to the caves! Thou i was lookin fwd to the cycle and doing a bita exercise!
Neway, off we went.. Caves were deadly! Did an adventure tour (well, 3 of us did) so we had to crawl and climb and slither etc etc throu caverns and that kinda thing.

Was a gud laugh.. After that weather was clear so we started cycling down frm caves - 3 of us 2gether, other 2's tour had finished earlier so we were to meet them at ostrich farm.. Neway, my bike broke! Well, chain hopped off and got stuck so i ended up havin to ring backpackers and urman had to come get me and my bike! :D
Got lift to ostriches - picked up other 2 enroute.. They woulda been too late for toury thing otherwise. Neway. Tour wasnt bad.. Urman giving it was a bita a gobshi*te but ah well.. Ostriches are stupid as as well.. Eat ANYTHING. Like coke bottles, syringes, stones... saw them eating Mud and trying to eat a metal fence.. Hum!! Not quite that appetizing i wouldnt think!
Newya.. rode an ostrich while was there.. 4a us did.. I was the only 1 not to fall off! How i dunno but was mental. I dont have a pict of me leggn it round properly on it but 1a the lads got one and is to email it on so i'll put that up when i get it.. I'll throw up the onea me jst sitting on it that i have for now thou..
Uhm so after that stalled back to backpackers and a fewa us played a load of pool.. Good evening! Had great laugh.. I jst need to get a lot better at pool.. Think i might play a bit again today for the craic.
Am getting a steam train from George tomorrow to Knysna.. takes 3 hrs on train and bout 30 mins or 1 hr in car.. aint far distance but steam train goes slow as apparently!!
