Rite so the last week of the overland trip was mainly through Botswana, spent one night at Chobe National Park where we did a game drive, saw fuk all thou apart from Impala and Warthog. Did an evening boat cruise after that thou and saw loads of hippos and some crocs, aswell as a shit load of elephants swimming- they just put their trunks up above the water and float along. That was class! Also there was an amazing sunset from the boat but dunno that i got gud picts of it really..!
After that we left our camp in Chobe the next morning at about 6am. Had a long days driving to get to Maun in Botswana. We did stop for lunch thou enroute at this class place called Planet Boa Boa or sumthn to that effect!! Neway, when we got 2 maun, basically just showered and packed up gear for the trip into the delta and then chilled for the resta the evening!
Was up early the next morn (5am ish!) took about 2.5 hrs to get to the Delta
Neway, we did a few bush / game walks - didnt see a whole lot. Heard some lions 1 morn. Saw a herd of elephants - was class to acturally be on foot and for them to be a few meteres away just in complete natural surroundings and their own envirionment. Loved that. Saw warthog as well and prob some impala..
Did a sunset cruise as well in the makuros - see picts. Was gud! Got fukn cold thou at nite in the delta. Also swam in it for the laf but wasnt exaclty deep enough and was cold.. and i got covered in muck / silt from the bottom of the delta coz the water was so shallow and i kept tippin he bottom of it.. or id jst be lying back in the water and be holding the bottom with handr or wotever and would jst be raising the silt up! Ah well.. sure got to shower back in Maun neway so was all good! :D
After the delta we went back to Maun and spent another night there.. The next day we were up at 5am and left camp at 6am.. Managed to make the South African border crossing just before it shut.. which was why were were up so early so worked out well.. So camped then again that night and it was v cold there!! Had dinner around the campfire (Which is always nice!) and then went to bed. Was onea the girls' birthdays as well so got a bita bday cake that nite!! Wasnt too bad!
Next day we made our way to joburg... Got there late afternoon/ evening. Went out for meal as a group which was nice.. Had a lovely meal in M&A's in Joburg but at the moment its eluding me what i had!!

01. Streching the wings
. We were brought out to the delta in Makuros (Canoes made outa sausage trees). Was class. We just chilled out and lay back in the sun while polers manouvered the canoe along the waterways in hte delta through the reeds! V relaxin! We stayed there for 2 nites. The place we stayed at had no campsite.. was complete wilderness - just set up a tent for food and another 10man one for ppl that didnt want to sleep beside the campfire etc.. Dont konw why u'd wanna sleep in a tent thou when u have the opportunity not to - and acturally hear lions roar and elephants etc nearby from ur sleeping bag!! Amazing experience!
