AFter leaving you last time I managed to find a hairdresser and get my hair cut.....very exciting for me as it was reaching ridiculous levels of breakingness and general rat-tail appearance. The hairdresser seemed to agree as well! ANyway that was lovely especially as I had my hair blow-dried for the first time in 3 months. I'm such a girl I know!
The next day we left J-bay and headed up to a place called Addo, where we did a game drive through the elephant park there. We gave some random german guys a lift too up to the area which was nice as they donated some money to our bar fund! It was my cook group turn again and for the first time the whole trip I thought it would be a good idea to have oranges and grapefruits forbreakfast. Of course today was the only day we couldn't do thata s citrus fruits are forbidden in the park as the elephants apparantly go mad for them. So we were all there at lunch desperately tryign to eat these 10 massive grapefruits, and also I had the genius idea of hiding them in a tree and picking them up on teh way back, so we didn't have to chuck them all. Also, ironically, on the way over to the park we had a hold up as a lorry or somethign carrying a load of lemons had obviously overturned and they were all ovr the road, so our truck wheels were being covered in the lemon juice. Still, no that it made any elephants go mad and start rampaging the truck as we only saw a few and theyw ere quite far away. The game drive was nothing noteable really, but the scenery again was quite nice. This evening we stayed int he nicest place yet....it was a 'hostel' called AardVarks, and we were so lucky as instead of camping or sleeping in dorms we all had double or triple rooms with a gorgeous en-suite bathroom. The place was lovely with an amazing kitchen and living room, and we were all so excited running from room to room exclaiming 'oh my GOD it's so posh!! That's what 3 months in a tent will do to you! It was our cook group again but after last time's 4 hour spectacle I promised Clive we'd do something easy so hot dogs it was. And vegan hot dogs (which resembled stuffing. yum,. not) for the new vegan tour leader. It was nice then just to chill out in the lovely living room with our wine tour wine and enjoy an early night.
