Today we were up at the inhumane hour of 5.30 to get brekkie ready for everyone els who got the luxurious lie in of 6 am. we were off to lesotho, on another long drive day so an early start it was. Again, nothing really of note that I can remember, we got in reasonably late to Malealea Lodge in the centre of the country after aboput 13 hours on teh bus. ugh. Even had to eat lunch on the go. But the tea was really nice, prepared for us, mealie pap (traditional african maize meal), meats and potatoes and yummy tomato sauces. It was really cold, as we were pretty high up in the Maluti mountains, and as it was raining everyone edcided to upgrade to sleeping in a little hut with beds and a candle for light, instead of putting up our tents. For $2 per night it seemed silly not to.
The next day we saw how lovely the scenery was, and booked onto a 2 hour pony trek along the mountians, which was lvoely, even if my pony was a little minx and kept trying to bite any other pony who dared to try and overtake it!
The evening was fairly subdued, we just went up to the game room and played trivial pursuit with an ozzie couple, which was hilarious as all the questions were about south african politics, literature, sports etc, so teh game went on for hours before someone actually won! More thumbnails ...
