Where I stayed
Jöekääru Adventure Camp
We headed for Pärnu, a pretty seaside town, ten minutes away. Nick scared the wits out of a Polish lorry driver by trying to turn the wrong way up a dual carriageway. The town has a nice pedestrianised centre and pastel coloured shops and restaurants lining the way. Nick wanted to go to the beach and I needed to take Saskia's toe to be looked at. The last couple of times I'd changed the bandage, some pus had oozed out of one of the holes made by the stitches.
I picked up a tourist map, and identified the little red cross symbol for a doctors, and went looking for the clinic with Saskia
The beach in Pärnu is perfect - sea, sun, sand. I was burnt within 10 minutes, despite the kids' factor 50 suncream. There were plenty of things for the kids to climb on and swing on, that cost nothing.
Nick, however, had the worst toilet experience he claims ever to have had.
"It was like the French Pits," he explained, "but smeared." Mmmm, nice. "They worked, though," he added, "I didn't need to go after seeing them."
