Our last day of the holiday was bright and sunny. We had decided to invite our friends and family to our farmhouse in Oudewater for coffee and cakes in an attempt to return some of the hospitality we'd been shown. Being Easter Monday, not everyone could come, but we ended up with a house-full nonetheless.
The kids and cousins soon ended up on the boat, and the adults chatted inside and out in the garden. The afternoon was a great success. Sometime in the early evening Hellen and GJ went off and foraged for chips and other delicacies, to feed the increasingly hungry mob. There were masses of them, and the kids ended up feeding the left over cold ones to the ponies. (Apparently the chickens didn't like them, though I believe Nick has taken some pictures of "chicken and chips". I'll share when I see them.).
The next day, we took the day boat from Hoek of Holland to Harwich, then drove across England, back home to Worcestershire. We got in around 1am. The kids slept in the car. Guess what? It's thundering here today. Why does it always rain in England??
Addendum: We got Nick's camera back from the developers to discover that none of the photos had come out. I'm sorry to say that you will have to imagine 'chicken and chips' as those images have been lost forever.
