The route follows a track for a mile or so before heading vertically up a hill. As we stumbled upwards the sea came into view, sparkling like a diamond below. The ridge took us up as far as Y Diffwys. The trig point is placed on the far side of a stone wall, next to a sheer drop. We all clambered over, then tried not to look like we were hugging the wall.
At this point I turned off my annoying phone app
From the to of Y Diffwys, the path descends a few hundred feet before rising again towards Ych Llethyr at about 750m. We paused at the top of the hill to enjoy the view before retracing our steps, mostly. Vince took us off-roading, which might have shaved a bit of distance from the walk, but was certainly harder underfoot.
We managed about 10 miles altogether and everything hurt from the waist down. My diary entry for the following day says 'hurt less'. I have got to get me to a gym.
