Japanese version of an egg roll!!
Japanese version of an egg roll!!
Here are some random shots from throughout the month....This first one is what I like to call a Japanese version of an eggroll! Convenience stores in Japan are something to be admired. They have everything and anything you could possibly want. One of the many things they carry are types of breads and sandwiches which could have anything in them from chocolate cream to egg salad! Weird part is some of these sandwiches aren't refridgerated...I'm not sure how that works but so far I haven't gotten sick so I don't ask questions! Lemon and sugar at McDonalds

Now this is one of my favorite things in Japanese restaurants. McDonald's and other fast-food type restaurants make their condiments in funny little packages. As you can see here, you have lemon and sugar for your ice tea. I have yet to see a sugar packet anywhere in this country. Usually, if you ask for sugar you get little creamer-like containers with liquid sugar in it. Kinda nifty! There is a man in that box...

Now this picture doesn't look like much at first. But, upon careful inspection you will notice an opening on the top of the box fairly close to the camera. In this box was a man. Not sure if he was sleeping, I didn't ask! But the homeless people here get quite creative with their living arrangements. We have seen entire rooms created out of boxes and trash. It's quite impressive! Although there are not very many homeless people in Japan, when you see one it's usally a sight to be seen! Ice cream claw machine!!
Ice cream claw machine!!
Yeah this is ice cream and yes there is a giant claw on top of it! We went into a gaming arcade that was 8 floors high and one of the floors had dozens of those machines with the giant claw. This particular machine was full of ice cream. It only cost 100 yen (about 1 dollar) but I didn't see anyone win anything. Always interesting in Japan!
