The music...
Japan is seeming more and more foreigner friendly. We have discovered a magazine called "Kansai Scene" which is published in English and contains articles, classifieds, good visiting spots, and ads for restaurants. In this month's magazine we found an ad for a Capoeira roda(pronounced jara) not too far from where we live. The dance...
The dance...
Even though this is a Brazilian dance/art form it has become popular in Japan. It was very cool to watch (it was my first) and by the end I was exhausted just All ages can play!
All ages can play!
from watching them throw their bodies around for three hours. For those who aren't aware, KJ used to take Capoeira lessons in college and he also can play the Berimbau which is a tall stick of an instrument with a wire tightly strung from it and then a half gourd around the bottom to help change the sound.
