Food. It's an important part of our life no matter what country we live in or who we live with. So, needless to say it has been an important part of our integration here. Miso Soup
Miso Soup
We have tried many new types of food but this particular picture screams JAPAN to me. Many of you are probably familiar with miso soup which is a very traditional Japanese soup made of soybeans....yum! Anyway, KJ really likes it and in our first few days here he managed to find a freeze dried version in which you just added hot water. This shows all of the freeze dried components before the hot water was added....how many ingredients can you name?

Red Bean Freeze Pop

Now, I'm not really a fan of Japanese soup but I am most certainly a fan of ice cream!! So, needless to say I was thrilled when I found a strawberry flavored ice cream pop. But, much to my dismay, after a big bite, I discovered those were not bits of strawberries. Yup, red beans were in my red bean flavored ice pop....yick! I chucked it because even though I'm all up for being adventurous, even I must draw the line somewhere!!
