The third destination on our cruise was at the tip of the Mexican Baja peninsula - Cabo San Lucas. This is a beautiful port with terrific, long public beaches.

The cruise ships weigh anchor about 1/2 to 3/4 mile out in the bay and lower their tender boats to transport passengers back and forth to the marina area. This makes for a short boat ride and a chance to survey the new surroundings as you approach the beautiful marina area.

There are many things to do and see in Cabo.

A must is to take a glass-bottom water taxi out to Lands End and see Los Archos. Picking up a ride from one of the local vendors at the Marina will cost about $10 - 15 US depending on your negotiatiing skills and the vendor's generosity :)

Also, make sure you take a stroll around the marina area. There are a lot of shops and restaurants in this area. If you keep on walking, you will find the Palaya Medano, the main public Beach. This stretches for miles and it is very difficult to find a stone on this beach as the sand is so fine. Terrific for sunbathing, jet skiing, or parasailing!
