Where I stayed
Once at the airport we checked in and grabbed our last Australian breakie and tucked in. Nice, but dam expensive. It has been an expensive trip. The flight was on time and before we knew it we were away. I tied to sleep during the flight, but it was a bit bumpy so I failed miserably. I think I got 40 winks somewhere on route to KL though.
Air Asia is fine. Many people don't like them, as they are cheap and do not offer free food and drinks. We found them comfortable enough though. You get what you pay for, right? Once in KL we flew through immigration and quickly transferred to the city bus. Ha-ha no stress this time as we knew exactly where we were going. We made our way through the sticky, uncomfortable heat of KL and by 3pm we were checked in enjoying the air con of our room. We actually stayed in this place in July (2010) and liked it so here we are back in the same place.
Our plan for the afternoon was to use the Internet then go out for a nice meal. Suk needs to spend some time getting her trip plans organized as she is still unsure where to go and what to do. She now has a full week to kill before she is needed back in Korea. I bet she hits a beach for the week. Anyway, I think I'm all sorted, no worries there I hope! For one thing I will not go as crazy in India as I have done in Oz. It's been great, but now I need to slow down a bit! Ha-ha I'm getting old. I've already decided to cut out two destinations I intended to see in India.
Together with a nice cold beer we curled up on one of the huge sofas in the lounge area, suk using her computer and I was on the ipad. Arh bliss.. I caught up on my emails and suk still umm-ed and ar-ed as what to do about her trip. It was funny, one minute she was going to the beach, then she changed her mind for the mountains, and finally to a city down south and a possible side trip to Singapore. It was the third idea that she stuck with she argued that she had seen more than her fair share of beaches for a while.. Ha-ha
We got changed and ventured into the heat again. Thankfully it's only a ten minute walk to where all the restaurants and shops are. We were both pretty tired and not up for any stress, so we went straight to the Moroccan restaurant that we wanted to go to during our last visit, but never did. We splashed out on a great meal of mixed kebabs and Moroccan salad, unfortunately no delicious wine to go with it. Oh well. Great meal nonetheless! I promised suk a beer when we got back.
At the hostel, we once again vedged out on the sofa to email for a bit. In the mean time, someone had put the footy on TV, so I thought yippee and sat back to enjoy. Suk carried on with her planning then went upstairs to get some other things organized. I think I lasted 10 minutes before I started dozing off, so I soon followed her up.
Quite an easy day, mainly because all the connections and transfers thankfully went to plan. It was good to catch up on my emails, and even better not to have a plan or deadline to follow!
