Hong Kong - 9th March 2008. Arrived in Hong Kong at 8 am to a warm, sunny but misty day. We decided to do our own thing as Dennis has been there before some years ago. Some friends decided to tag along with us. We caught the shuttle bus to the Ocena terminal approximately 15 mins from our berth in the container port. We then took the Star ferry to Hong Kong Island and a taxi down to the world famour Stanley Market. Lots of tourist bargains to be found in the market. Unfortunately we only had one day here so we wanted to take in some of the sights as well so the shopping spree was cut short. Next we took a double decker bus ride back to our stating point which was an adventure in itself as we stat on the top deck at the fron and we were not sure whether we would make it to the bus terminal the roads were a bit bumpy to say the least. Good way of seeing the scenery lots of high rise buildings there are 7 million people living in Hong Kong. We then took a long walk to the Peak Tram Station to take the tram to Victoria Peak where we would have a panoramic view of Hong Kong and Kowloon. We had a lovely Chinese meal looking over the high-rise buildings of Hong Kong. The day just went too quickly and before we knew it we had been down town for 10 hours time to head back to our ship via taxi, ferry and coach. Next stop Vietnam.
