Sydeny - 24th February 2008.  Woke up to another glorious sunny day in Sydney.  After breakfast we took a walk round the harbour and up to the Opera House unfortunately closed to visitors as it was Sunday.  The harbour and surrounding areas were heaving with people, the crowds were unbelievable in some places.  The Media had gone to town on publicising the fact that the QE2 and Queen Victorias were in Sydney at the same time and the whole of Sydney decided to descend onto Central Quay to take photos etc.  We met Lynne and the boys (Irene's late husbands niece (Judy's daughter) at Central Quay they had come in from the Blue Mountains by train to see us.  After a drink we took them on a cruise around the harbour, we sipped champagne to celebrate meeting again after 5 years.  Then onto lunch at a lovely harbour side restaurant where we had posh fish and chips with a bottle of wine of course.  Best fish and chips we have had in a long time.  After lunch we strolled down to the bridge and had a big ice cream we walked round to the Rocks market to look at the wares.  Time to go back to the ship as we were boarding for 5:30, we had another fantastic day with Lyne and her 3 lovely boys. On the ship we saw them on the quay and we waved to them from our balcony as they waited to see the Queen Victoria sail out of the harbour as the QE2 took over her berth.  We had a tremendous send of from Sydney; hundreds of boats in all shapes and sizes followed us out of the harbour.  We loved Sydney so much we will be back one day.

Hello from number 32
Really enjoying watching your progress around the world. We've got some excellent photos for you of the two ships in Sydney harbour courtesy of online Australian newspapers.
Raymonde is also following your progress so you have a truly international fan club!
You may have heard that we had the biggest earthquake in the UK for 25 years with it's epicentre in Market Rasen, Lincolnshire - don't worry your house is still standing!
Love to you both from Duncan, Wendy, Rob & Wendy's Mum.
