Costa Rica - 23rd January 2008. We had an organized trip to a coffee plantation, which was about 2 hours from the port. The countryside was green and lush with tropical trees and plants. Volcanic mountains produced a spectacular backdrop. A poor but very self-sufficient country very eco conscious in many ways. There are 800 species of birds, which is more than in the whole of American and Canada, not bad for a country the size of Austria. Again weather hot and dry bit breezy which made our tour more bearable. The coffee tour was very interesting, lots of excellent coffee and liquors. Next stop after 2 days sailing, dancing, exercising and eating will be Acapulco.

Hi Irene and Dennis
Colin says Dennis you are looking a bit peeky in the everglades photo!! only joking!! the Panama Canal looks fantastic it must have been amazing to see it and go through it - a once and only trip. Kelly Greig is doing the carribean tours on the P & O and she called us from Aruba and Mexico said both places were lovely. It has finally stopped raining in the UK, sunny in London today. Cant wait too see more pictures. Take care, all well here, I am off with Patsy to see Ma and Pa on Friday for the weekend!!
