Flag of San Marino  ,
Saturday, May 31, 2008

San Marino is an interesting tiny country. It's center (located on the top of a mountain) is 45 minutes by bus from Rimini. I've visited the 3 towers of San Marino, which are even featured on their flag (3rd tower doesn't have an entrance though!) Seen the crossbowmen shooting their crossbows with an amazing accuracy! Most stores in San Marino sell copies of swords, catanas and firearms while others sell leather clothes and bags. There's a crazy number of Russians in San Marino, both as tourists and working in shops.

8-)
What language do ppl speak there?
So, did you enter the other 2 towers? And the 3rd one doesn't have anything inside? :)

Why such an emphasis on firearms in this country?

Huh! Wonder why... Tourists - I guess, because of nice weather... Living - I know a lot of Russians stayed in Italy when they were trying to run to Israel from the USSR through Italy and weren't allowed to move further...

Italian and Russian :)

Yeah, I entered both towers, but third one (as far as I understand) used to have stairs outside but they rotted away.

No idea, but they really like freedom :)

Maybe... But a lot of them sound like farmgirls who learned Italian to work there as waitresses or something.
