Sinse Bath was a part of the Stonehenge trip, I got to see it once again. And this time I visited the actual roman bath, built senturies ago when Britania was a small part of the Roman Empire. It is believed that the hot spring was used and worshipped even before the romans, by celtic tribes. Celts built a shrine dedicated to goddess Sulis, which Romans identified with their goddess Minerva. The temple was constructed in 60-70 AD and the bathing complex was gradually built up over the next 300 years. Than after the Roman Empire fell apart, Bath was forgotten as a spa for hunderds of years until it became popular again during the Georgian period. Most of the city as I saw it, was built or designed by the architects Jonh Wood the Elder and the Younger (father and son). Master of Ceremonies, Beau Nash, created a code of polite behaviour in the city which soon spread around the whole country.

After the tour of Bath's baths, and a proper British creme tea with scones, I was on the way to the magical stone circle. One of the highlights on the way was a road sign warning the drivers of the crossing tanks. Apparantly the land along that road is still used for the military training.

Stonehenge is a truly amazing sight!
