Well, Mom got on a plane back to the cold and wintery state of Michigan at Noon today, and Rose and her sister Jill decided it wasn't necessary for Rose to go along, so here we are, both of us sstill in sunny, warm (and windy!) SoCal. We had planned to drive as far as Santa Barbara (on the Central Coast)tonight, but the traffic was awful, so we stopped at Dockweiler State Beach Campground - it's right on the ocean, just down the shore from where we said our vows five and half years ago,
but the downside is that it's right at the end of the takeoff runways for LAX, so the planes take off overhead almost 24 hours a day. But there was a pretty sunset over the whitecaps, so I'll be uploading those pictures as soon as we sit still for a few minutes! (Oh, oh, this is beginning to sound like last year!)

Mom's plane landed in Detroit on schedule, and Jill had to deal with the really poor visibility and blowing snow and icy roads to get everyone home safe and sound, which, of course, she accomplished. All's well that ends well, and we're glad we made the decision to keep Mom here the extra day, or she'd have been in the airport and on that plane Monday for almost 12 hours.

For those of you wondering - John is doing pretty well, recovering from his heart attack and staying at his daughter Pam and her husband Scott's home. We were going to get over to see him on Monday, but the change in Mom's travel plans put that visit off for another couple of weeks. He's got a ways to go to reach full recovery, so all healing thoughts and continuing prayers are much appreciated!
