It was a beautiful drive, and we've stopped here in Page, Arizona for the night - home of Glen Canyon Dam and Lake Powell, the second largest lake in the country.
As the big-rock craggy mountains receded into our rear-view mirror, we began to see huge red-rocks all around us - some rounded and smooth with "blobs" on top, looking almost as though some prehistoric giant had pooped - others, exploded straight up out flat ground all around them, like giant headstones or modern art sculptures...thus, the name Monument Valley.
