We met up at Sindbad's, a restaurant and marina on the Detroit River. I had only been in this area of Detroit once before - at the Roostertail Nightclub (which we could see outside the window), where I went after my high school prom! It was an interesting drive getting there, and well worth it, as we had a great time catching up!
After a long and frequently-detoured drive through Downtown Detroit, we met up with my Cousin Don (twin to Cousin Tom that we saw in Virginia a few months ago!...and whom I've seen only once in ~45 years!); Cousin Patty (visiting from Missouri - we spent time with her and her husband, Jim a couple years ago in Missouri); Aunt Helene and Uncle Ray (my Dad's youngest brother - they live in the suburbs of Detroit, and are parents of my Cousin Kevin, whose house we went to in Maryland a couple months ago); and my Mom. This mini-reunion took some real effort on Don's part, as he had Dialysis scheduled that morning, AND cataract surgery right after it - but he wasn't letting anything get in the way - and we're really happy he didn't, because it was a really fun luncheon.
