We spent an amazing afternoon at the Steven F. Udvar-Hazy Center - The National Air and Space Museum's 10 story Boeing Aviation Hanger (including flight simulators!), with an attached 80 foot high space hangar.  This overwhelming space displays more than 150 aircraft and 148 large space artifacts that are too big to be displayed at the National Mall Smithsonian location.   Highlights included the Lockheed SR71 Blackbird - the fastest jet ever built; the B-29 Superfortress Enola Gay, fully restored and reassembled; the Air France concorde, the Space Shuttle Enterprise; and so many more fabulous examples of flight, from the earliest "Lucky Lindy" times (and the less successful attempts before!); to the most recent space explorations and communication satellites.  Of course, I took hundreds of pictures, which I don't have the time to upload right now - but will very soon - PROMISE!
And - DID YOU KNOW THAT THERE'S A LINK BETWEEN EARLY SPACE TRAVEL AND THE RV WORLD?  It turns out that an Airstream Travel Trailer was used as the Mobile Quarantine Facility for astronauts returning from space!
