Where I stayed
Pat's Place - Lone Cedar Ranch
We continue to see LOTS of wonderful wildlife all around here - and I continue to enjoy listening to the many bluebirds and mockingbirds who entertain non-stop. Speaking of entertainment, I had some at an unexpected place and time this week when a mockingbird landed smack dab in the middle of our skylight over the shower, while I was in the shower! He sang away for the longest time, and I had a hard time dispelling the thought that a bird directly overhead could be a real problem for my freshly shampooed hair
During the entire winter, there are bluegrass jams almost daily aroud here, and Pat and her guitar are active participants in many of them, so we've been expanding our knowledge of bluegrass tunes and enjoying the opportunity to get to know some of the "snowbird" musicians in the area, most of whom are heading back to Michigan and New York in the next couple of weeks.
There's never a lack of things to do here, between the jams, projects that Greg and Pat keep finding around the Ranch, Super Scrabble Games (which I'm sorry to say Pat has managed to win - every time!), and Pat's motorcycles, which she and Greg enjoyed riding for a couple of local excursions. Add to that lots of fabulous meals, both here at home and in great restaurants around the area, and we pretty much manage to enjoy and fill our time!
Soon (March 25th), Mom will be flying into Tampa from Ann Arbor, and after a couple of days showing her around Lone Cedar Ranch, we'll all be "on the road again" - heading up the coast, first to Hilton Head, South Carolina to see Cousins Janet and Bob, and then on to Wilmington, North Carolina, where we'll see Mom's Brother, my Uncle Tony and Cousin Adele. We'll wrap up Mom's visit with a couple of days parked by the Ocean in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina - Mom flies out of there on April 4th.
