I must admit to being conflicted during this entire baseball weekend - my many years of cheering for the Minnesota Twins arguing internally with the fact that I've actually seen the Red Sox play a lot more these last few years, and I now recognize the names of all the Red Sox, while all but about 2 or 3 of the Twins are unknowns to me
. I did break down and buy a Boston Spring Training visor, but I've never quit wearing my "#1 Twins Fan" pin, which was given to me by Twins Great Tony Oliva when he was working in the Twins front office, and when I was spending a fair amount of time there developing promotional ideas with my friend Laura, who was Promotion Manager and then Marketing Director for the Twins back in the early 90's. I guess the good news is that I ended up satisfied, whichever team won!
After the game, we came back to the motorhome, watched the Nascar Race, which was just beginning, and enjoyed our favorite - Greg's Great Grilled ribeye steaks. Keri and I then walked down to the wonderful homemade ice cream shop by the entrance to our RV Park, and we overdosed on multiple flavors of very-rich dairy...the perfect finish to a perfect day!
Today was our third and last day of Spring Training Baseball - this time we saw the Twins and the Red Sox again, but in a different venue - City of Palms Park, which is the spring training home of the Boston Red Sox. Greg had decided to stay home and watch the Nascar Race on TV while Keri and I went to the game. It was another one of those perfect summer baseball days, and we sat in even more perfect seats - this time in the second row behind the Visitors (Twins) Dugout. Soon after we got the the stadium we bumped into Keri's friend Susan again, so I took advantage of the photo op and got them to pose this time!
