Where I stayed
Frog City RV Park
As a frog-lover and former frog collector, I loved the name of the RV Park (Frog City Rv Park), and I found out that they got the name from the town next door - Raynes - which is the Frog Capital of Louisiana
Along the way, we decided to use the resources of the internet to look for an old Cargill friend - we knew that Dennis and Dolly used to live here, when Dennis worked at the Breaux Bridge Salt Plant - but I also knew that they had transferred up to the San Francisco area to the Leslie Salt Plant some years ago...but since we'd never been able to locate them there, I wondered if they might have come back to Louisiana - I knew they loved it here
We figured that it was about 18 years since I'd seen them - and, it was more like 28 since Greg had seen Dennis! What fun we had, talking about old times and catching up on others we knew from our old Cargill Salt days. The night was made even better by the addition of good, old-fashioned, cajun cooking! Lobster bisque, crawfish etoufee, chicken and sausage gumbo, bread pudding with rum sauce - what a treat it all was!
After a long month of working almost every day, followed by a long week of moving every day, traveling through areas with little chance to enjoy them - this was a wonderful way to wrap up both the week and the month!
