We left Indian Trails in Batesville, Indiana this morning - saying goodbye to Ruth Ann & Frank, and hoping to meet up with them at the Toledo Speedway in a month.  It was about a five hour drive across Ohio,on a mostly cloudy day, with some fog and a little sunshine thrown in.  We saw a couple of interesting things along the way...we drove through Findlay, which is evidently known as "Flag City, USA" - and it appears the residents and businesses buy into that fully, as there were flags waving everywhere around town!  As we were leaving Findlay, we ended up in a line of traffic behind a funeral procession on a two lane road, and were surprised to see that all ONCOMING traffic (including semi's, private cars, and delivery trucks) pulled over and stopped as the procession went by - something neither Greg nor I had ever seen before, in any of the places we've lived.  Turns out (per many comments posted on Facebook in response to my mention of it), it's a fairly common practice in many parts of the country (and Canada), it seems.
After three wonderful weeks of exploring our way across the country (2,390 miles exactly!), we've landed at our spot for the Summer - Cedarlane RV Park on Catawba Island, in Port Clinton, Ohio.   This is the park we worked at during the summers of '09 and '10, and that's what we're doing here again.   It's a very nice RV Park/Campground - Over 300 sites, ~200 of those sites are seasonal campers, for whom this is their "cabin".  Every weekend, once we get into season, we'll be full to the brim, with ~100+ RV's coming in every weekend, usually on Thursday and Friday nights.

We got here and got settled in this afternoon, and after cleaning up a bit, we went out to Crosswinds Bar and Restaurant, one of our favorite places to eat near here (and owned by the same family as the RV Park).  One of their specialties is Lake Erie Perch and Lake Erie Walleye - both of which are fabulous - but I'd been craving the perch ever since we left Arizona - and it didn't disappoint!

A few statistics about these past 3 weeks of travel:  We drove the motorhome 2,390 miles, used 281 gallons of fuel at an average cost of $3.969/gallon, and we averaged 8.5 mpg.  As is always the case when we're out motoring in our home - the experiences were priceless!  We spent time with friends along the way, saw places and things we hadn't seen before, and ate a lot of good food.

Now we'll be settling in for a long summer's stay in Northwest Ohio, which will also afford us the opportunity to visit nearby family and friends on our days off, and we always find some fun things to do on those free days, too!  I don't usually write and post much when we're stopped for long periods of time, but we hope you'll check back every once in a while, just to see if anything's new!
