We were excited to hear that Wendy & Ed Shipley, who we recently had dinner with in Kansas City as they passed through, were stopping at Countryside for a couple of days on their way to SoCal.  I know Wendy from my job at the Credit Union in Riverside, where I worked for the 5 years before our retirement.  Hadn't seen her since then, because she had retired from UCR and she and Ed had moved to Omaha, NE.  Through the magic of the internet, we reconnected last year, and we were excited to see them buy a new motorhome and make plans to live in it for the winter months.  We then discovered that they'd be coming through Kansas City on the weekend we happened to be there, and we decided to meet up then...and since then have determined that we'd be here in Arizona when they were coming through!
We've enjoyed sharing "hints" for life on the road with them, and we've understood and shared their angst when problems have come up with their new rig
We decided it would be fun to share one of our favorite places near here with them - and it was a great night!  I've written about Organ Stop Pizza before in here, and will try to re-post some of those pictures and videos here, since I didn't bring my camera this time.   Organ Stop Pizza and its Mighty Wurlitzer organ have come to be known as the
biggest and best in the world as attested to by many of the world’s
finest theater organists...and with a very tasty pizza menu, salad bar, and 45 minutes of fabulous music every hour - it's a really fun evening of good food and entertainment...and we weren't even aware that show tunes like those played on the Wurlitzer at Organ Stop, are Wendy & Ed's favorite music!
It was a fun day, and a great evening!  So happy Wendy & Ed stopped at Countryside!
