What's that warm and gooey stuff on my neck?!!?!

Had a great sleep - cozy little house! Feels homey. I went in search of breakfast. Saw a small fish market ... nothing special. Unforgettable moment - a bird shit on me. NOT a transcendent moment, however. Nasty. Warm and gooey ... yech ...
Split is very busy on Saturdays - all the people are out at the markets. Lots of beautiful women were out and about, but still not Spanish quality! Bought some apple juice , goat cheese, chocolate croissants and back to the house. I hoped that the girls would still be there. They were, so we dined together. First, I showered again to wash off the crap (the water was WAY colder this time). I didn't think it would be very appetizing for the girls to dine while bird crap was caked on my neck.
Had some of their bread and Nutella .... gooooood .... Afterwards, off to the ferry terminal to figure out the rest of my time in Croatia. It's a pain in the ass here ... the internet always shows ferries and buses that no longer exist. A local explained it to me "Welcome to Croatia, man!". It makes it tough to plan, especially when the only way for me to get to Italy from Dubrovnik cheaply is a ferry running only 4 times per week. Of course, getting stranded in Croatia may not be a bad thing .... Went to the used book store but was too lazy to browse through all the somewhat randomly-placed titles, so I left empty-handed. I had a mediocre gyro for lunch and then walked through the market. There was some great looking produce (it's grape season, but I never had any). Sat in a nice park for a few minutes .. Split is great. It's a good thing I didn't listen to the UK girl from Ljubljana and skip the place!
Ran into Chuck and Eileen again at the cathedral. It's funny because they should've left on the 6:45 ferry but they couldn't wake up for it. Ran into the girls walking around ... we made plans for a picnic on the beach. When I left them in the morning I said something like "I think I'll be back around 6 or 7, maybe we can have dinner?" but secretly I was worried that they had had enough of me last night and would stay away on purpose! Anyway, they went to the cathedral and I went to use the internet. We decided to meet up in 2 hours. I sat in the cathedral's square writing in my journal and waiting for them. We wanted to buy a roasted chicken from the market but when we got there everything was closing for the day. Instead, we bought some canned tuna, corn, tomatoes, plums, beer, and yogurt. It sounds very simple but it was a great meal. Good food, good company, and a beautiful location on the beach. A priceless experience.
We enjoyed the sunset and hung out on the rocks. We left our stuff on the beach several metres away and some lady tried to go through our stuff. Emilie chased her off. Quick shower at the house and then we grabbed a drink at a cool little cafe. We walked around, had some pizza, chilled, and then off to bed. More thumbnails ...
