For the first time, I can't think of a dumb title!

Bought some cheese, meat, bread, juice, yogurt, etc. yesterday for breakfast for my time in Budapest. The plain Activia brand yogurt was 4 for 265 Forints (sale) - no wonder, because it tastes like crap! Went to the Museum of Fine Arts - free entrance and tour (The Spanish Gallery). Overall, it was OK. It was very unique because many European museums are former palaces and residences, but this is a purpose built museum. Different wings have different architectural styles to match the type of art they house (i.e. - renaissance style for renaissance art, etc.).
Sadly, the renaissance wing was closed. But there were many different types of art to see, still - sculptures, Egyptian antiquities, etc. A decent little museum. Saw some "El Greco" paintings in the Spanish gallery. He has a very distinct style and I recognized them immediately - now I know why. He had no real followers so when he died, so did his style.
Had a cannoli-like pastry at the Museum's coffee shop - stuffed with cream cheese and shredded cheese. Disgustingly fat. After, I took a few pics of Heroes Square and then walked down the "majestic" Andrazzi boulevard (as the Let's Go guide describes it). Crap! Nothing to see, no action. But ran across a market on a side street - seems like they only sell peaches! I had a chocolate cake ... see pics. Good, but the chocolate wasn't rich enough to balance the tartness of the berries. Off to the mall ... I like visiting malls in Europe ... it reminds me of home. Nothing like gross commercialism to make you feel like you are in familiar surroundings! Neat little rooftop garden with actual grass. Pretty big mall - I bought another journal as mine is almost full. It's funny because it was a gift from Kristy and Tim and I remember thinking "Wow ... there is no way I could ever fill that up!". Anyway, it turned out to be an excellent gift - thanks again!
Food court - lots of Asian options. So what did I get? Pizza! Corn and ham. No good. Off to the parliament building - modelled after the UK parliament. Took a rest on the grass then off to the internet cafe to catch up on the blogs. Cheap here - so I took advantage of it! Saw Holly at the hostel - going to see if she wanted to have dinner. "Have you eaten yet?" I think she sensed that I was looking for more than a friendly dinner - she said something like "I'm not sure if I'm eating in or out tonight.". Alright .... guess I misread that one, but she's a tough one to figure it out. One minute everything is clicking and the next it's aloof.
No matter ... on my way out I ran into Alanna sitting in the square. Our bunkmates recommended a place in the Jewish quarter so we went there. Packed. Came back 30 minutes later and got in. Alanna had goulash ... not what we expected. A runny soup, not really stew. I got the set meal deal. Fried mushroom stuffed with cheese. Good. Turkey breast with bacon, mushrooms, and melted cheese. Served with fries. Decent and rich. Salad - cukes, peppers (pickled) - ok. Red wine - ok as well. Only 4 euros a bottle - a bargain! Dessert - I had a "parfait" - really, it was just ice cream. Quite sad. Alanna had a peach melba - just canned peaches with ice cream. Bad for her because she hates canned peaches. Walked back to the hostel and off to bed.
