Today I got up with the sun and Kirby and I decided to make the journey to Manuel Antonio national park. Jill drove us into town and on the way I saw a bunch of blue morphos!
We opted to take the hike around punto catedral instead of going straight to the beach, and it was a great decision. Along the walk through the forest I saw 4 kinds of lizards, one snake (brown rat snake?), white-faced capuchin monkeys, a species of giant rodent (i forget the name), numerous birds, one crocodile, and tons of butterflies. After we got around the point we ended up on Manuel Antonio beach--absolutely gorgeous beach in a secluded bay covered in green stones and white coral--where we spent a few hours enjoying the bath-like water and lounging in the shade of the manzanillo trees.
Afterwards we hiked back out of the park and made a stop at Marlin's restaraunt where I had a few maragaritas and some delicious black bean soup. A stop at Memo's, 3 margaritas later, and a dip in the pool, and im feelin fine.
