It was time to travel to the East Coast to find some warmer weather. The road trail is known as "The Trail of the Tin Dragon" and the scenery truly beautiful, one minute we were driving through rainforest's mountains, the next through lush, green, pastoral hills full of dairy cows, beef, goats and this region has plenty of wineries too.
The trails history is of the discovery of tin in the late 1800's and the story of thousands of fortune seekers from all over the colonies and overseas, including around nine hundred from China.
Scottsdale is the heart of North East Tasmania's rich agricultural, dairy and forest regions
Along the way we called into the world acclaimed sparkling winery, Jansz and at Pyengana we free camped at “The Pub in the Paddock” not far from St Columbus Falls and “The Holy Cow Cafe” – real milk and great tasty cheeses. Another stop-off was “Yondover Farm House” which was selling goat products – yum.
