What I did
Warner bros. The Making of Harry Potter Tour

Flag of United Kingdom  , England,
Monday, June 25, 2012

We drove to HPW along the M4 at 140km/hr with monkey prints all over the windscreen. We listened to the Brit-Awards 2001 album of the year, followed by the Spice Girls' album. 'Lucky' by Britney Spears; 'She Bangs' by Ricky Martin, as well as Craig David, Robby Williams and Kylie Minogue all featured.

A HPW we were able to see: Harry's cupboard under the stairs; the great hall; Hagrid's hut; the potions dungeon; the Gryffindor common room and boy's dormitory; Umbridge's offices; the Weasley house; the entrance to the ministry; Dumbledore's office; the chamber of secrets' doorway and walkway; Diagon Alley and Privet Drive, as well as countless props, costumes, artworks, creatures, constructed scenes and character reconstructions. Towards the end of the tour there was also a giant miniature of Hogwarts castle and the interior of Ollivander's wand shop, followed by an elaborately decked out gift store.

For dinner we made quiche and pumpkin salad for Ian and Carol and sat in the garden to enjoy the warmth of the evening with a glass of the French red we brought with us from Paris.

Sounds fantastical, was it exciting for you? Were there many people there? Did you buy anything from the gift shop? It sounds like it was huge. I imagine that if I was there I would have been like a little boy, running around manically.

This is incredible! Such as a massive scale, so much work, yet an amazing amount of detail. Imagine being on the set of a film of that proportion. It's pretty awesome. Thank you for posting photos, I was hoping that you would :-)

It was pretty fantastical and I was bursting with excitement. I wish we had gone together, you would have been so delighted! You definitely would have been running manically through. And reading everything available!
