I am now on the northern territory of the east coast, about to take my journey on a sail boat for a couple of days out to the whitsundays!!! That starts tomorrow morning so I figuered I would update those who are following my journey one last time before hitting the great BLUE WATERS of down under....
The past days have been hetic with moving around different parts of australia from syndey to harveybay and now is airle beach all within a 4 day period....
I ended up going out both nights in syndey to the bar scene and was rolling solo but ended up just meeting up with some peeps, the Kings Cross of Syndey "RED LIGHT" district is very interesting from the street scene to the club scene....they asked me if I was on a guest list, I said this is not NYC, let me in and she laughed at me so I walked across the street and  this club let me in....too bad it was 3 guys to every girl....and since I had an early flight I left early and made my way back to home.....
Off to Harvey bay for Fraser Island say tour, it is the worlds largest sand island and is a protected by the world conversation organization.  As I check into the hostel i decide to take a power nap and then enters my evil twin, he asks if I want to go out and drink tonight, sure why not.  What I did not know is that SOCO is his favoriite liquor, and those who know me since Rutgers, that was my name socotelesco, so we purchased and bottle and went to SUBWAY to get a sandwhich and down the bottle, that was at 630pm.  The night was just starting, we strolled down the bar street and introduced ourselve to many locals, and had intraction with one group who we acted like borat with for 3o minutes (HIGH FIVE) it was really funny!! Then we went into the club. morocos for the last part of the night, and somehow we got back, and I made my 7am bus to the island....Once you get off the ferry to the island all the roads are not paved and really hilly.  Once you enter the beach area you are able to do about100 km/hr and what is really cool is that fresh water springs meet the salt water in the ocean...and the fresh water is drinkable.  Two weeks ago was the last siting of humpback whales as they were migrating to the artic, that would have been awesome, but i did see an eagle dive into the water for a "bite to eat"
Also on the beach there is ship wreck from 1930's, the boat was once owned by the japenese but they were not that smart trying to beat the tides and bringing it back up to their territory....And then there was lake mckenzie(google it and look at the pics) it is so amazing and to know that it self sufficient and water is so clear and the sand so white is really cool....back to harvey bay by boat and had to rush to get the 8pm bus back to the bus depot to take me to airle beach...just made it and that is how i am here now taking it easy for the night until the boat trip comes tomorrow...
Thanks again for keeping me going as each and everyday is another journey in OZ LAND!!!
Cheers for now
