Yesterday as I last left off we went down to take a river taxi to the Grand Palace, which is where the King lives, and we arrive shortly before 3, closes at 330p, only to find out that people in shorts and sleevless shirts are not allowed in ... guess what my ass is in a tank top and shorts and flip flops like a normal american who cannot handle the heat, so Tighe decides to go in all alone to get some pictures, but then realizes how much it costs so we just laid on the ground of the palace and just talked about random topics until a worker there told us to respect the king and sit up .. OK we out ... after stopping off to get a quick drink we continue back to the water to get a river taxi to the last stop that is where we would jump on the skytrain and go to the huge mall downtown .. once arrive we realize the size of this mall it is really amazing .. we walked around a while keeping track of time as we know the train is to leave at 720pm, and we must first go back to the hotel to get our bags which we left off after checking out ... so we get a bite to eat and i say lets go and tighe agrees and we say lets get a taxi to the hotel and then bus to train station time is a l;ittle tight .. .so we go outside in the rain flag down a taxi and then the fun begins ... the traffic is worst than broadway in times square on the weekeend .. what the da ***** we aint making it i am thinkingh , tighe notices the taxi gas is on E as well and has no ability to speak english .. we get to the road where our hotel is at 655pm, get out and run to the hotel down the road which is like canal street with shops all over the place and people begging you to buy their best item, and here is tighe and i running like we are going to die .. get our bags and now with our backpacks on we get back on the street and start running, think of amazing race, but with two stupid guys who just didnt plan for this ... we get to the end to pick a taxi and time is ticking it is now 705 and the traffic is still strong ..the driver says 10 minutes without traffic or 30 with ... oh shit well we can stay at the train station and make the most of it .. .as we pull up to the train station it is now 719pm and we look at each other and say f it lets go ... pay the taxi jump the rail and look for track 10 i see tighe sees it i go the wrong way and have to go back .. we see a train on track 10 is it ours .. the conductor looks at our tickets and bows and says jump on .. holy shit are you kidding me .. how did we pull this off ...
the train was a bitch of one and took almost 12 hours to get from bangkok to chain mai and most of the trip was just listening to musix and sleeping ..
tighe and i are now about to start are time in chaing mai and i will update you all once i get through the next sday ...
