I wanted to go to my old summerhouse in Sweden and brought my dog along for the ride. It takes around 3.5 hours by car to get from Oslo to Gothenburg (or Orust where the house is) so it's totally doable for a weekend trip. I decided it was time to dive again, since I haven't been diving in Scandinavia the last 2 years.

Orust is a rather large island 45 minutes by car from Gothenburg. It's the loveliest place, very picturesque, with great scenery of the coast as well as farmlands. There are horses, free roaming cattle and apple trees all over the place :-)

I went to Ellös on Orust to dive with Kon-Tiki divers. They have a pretty good set up with guided tours during the weekends. I've dived there before and like the area a lot. But God, was it miserable 01. Mollösund fishing village
01. Mollösund fishing village
. It was extremely dark, and extremely cold (even with a semi dry suit) the visibility was zero and I didn't have any computer or watch with me to help me tell the time of the dive. I had aimed for two dives, but it was so miserable the first time, I didn't want to go in for the second dive. (There were no showers or lockers there, and you had to change in a large very cold concrete building, I had forgotten my swimsuit so I went in my underwear, all in all it was pretty miserable!) I did see an orange needle fish which was fun to look at, apart from that I have nothing to report from that dive... My conclusion is that I'm too spoilt now and that I've become too accustomed to tropical diving. I really need to work on getting to love the diving back home again.

After the miserable attempt at diving, I went to a small fishing village, Mollösund which is adorable. Not many people were out and about that Sunday morning, so I pretty much had the whole town to myself. Which is great for photographing landscapes.

It was great being back in Sweden with my dog again, but I won't attempt diving there anytime soon...
