Dear Friends and Family, as you all wake up to a Monday morning in the US, you will hear on the world news that there was an earthquake in Chengdu. It happened about 6 hours ago and we hear it measured 7.8 on the Richter scale. We are all fine. We were 5 floors up and waited for the swaying to stop and then ran down 5 flights of stairs to the outside. I did get some pictures that I will share with all of you.

The kids were amazing through it all. We prayed during the quake for God's protection and I told them that God helped them be brave. We are having some aftershocks. We just had a small one that rocked the room a little bit where I am writing.

We are staying this evening at our host family's home. We all were scheduled to take the overnight train to Xichang tonight but we aren't even sure if the trains are running. Plus, our host family's home has damage to 2 rooms of their home and we are helping to clean that up this evening.

Continue to pray for safe travels and that we can reschedule portions of our trip. There are reports of deaths and injuries and please pray for the families involved in this tragedy in their lives.
