Today we drove from Hershey, Pennsylvania to this town in West Virginia. It was a lot of miles covered and do you want to know the funniest thing about choosing this off the "Pike" route ? My main plan was to choose a road with few mountains so that I didn't have to force the Minnie Winnie's engine ! Ever heard the song "Take me home West Virginia - MOUNTAIN momma ! Ok this is Morgan's favorite song and she insisted upon playing it a million times on her ipod as I invoked divine intervention to help us over the mountains ! When we were so high up in this pass, sweating buckets from the humidity and I asked the info center lady if there wasn't another way down and she did not look amused ! She said there was only 5 more mountains ! Ha - there was at least 10 ! Well , and just so you know, we hadn't even crossed out of Maryland and into West Virginia ! Actually WV was beautiful, high rolling hills , lots of tall trees and green/ lush countryside ! I do not know what the people do there out in the middle of nowhere because you would just be driving through the hills and come to a town ! We did see a large town trhat had an army base located there and when we finally ended up in Parkersberg we were relieved to find a Walmart and a very nice man in the garden department who filled up the motorhome with water for us !  We also learned he had 16 guns at home and we had a most interesting conversation with him about possessing a weapon in the states!) Did you know they have a Tim Hortons here ! It was kind of comforting but as Coralyn pointed out "how dare they take away a Canadian symbol !".
