We had a blast making all sorts of creations, heaps of fun
! :D Some of the girls made heaps of plates, but Mum and I decided to just work on one. Annika made lots of plates, including a manger scene with baby Jesus and all, pretty neat. We all made winter scenes of the outside. Mum made a scene with a story to it. Since Auntie gave us carrot sticks while making all sorts of creations, Mum made a scene with Auntie as a gummy bear pointing carrot sticks at all of us (gummy bears). There was a hole that if any gummy bear dared to cross over into the area of sweets (lollies) then you'd fall into the hole. On the over side of the hole was the land of sweets where you could eat as many sweets as you liked……. and Dad was a cod liver oil tablet standing over all of us kids, confused?. Anyway, it's hard to explain what it looked like, just look at the pictures, it's easier to understand. We had an awesome time building these fun scenes, there were about 25 of them by the end, all lined up on the counter. We eventually persuaded Dad to let us eat just a few of the candies… turned out to be a bit more than a few! I had to throw mine out to resist the temptation of getting fat! My stomach was rumbling as we piled frosting on to plates and little gumie bears for people, for I hadn't had breaky yet..... so after finishing these creations, I had a vegemite sandwich for breaky..... more like brunch. :)
That was our morning, making all sorts of creations on paper plates. Auntie had to rush off to go to Eilas feild trip that she had had this morning, so it was Mam Bear, Papa Bear and Uncle at home, Uncle made us pea & ham soup for lunch, which was great. In the afternoon the hair dresser came to the house to do some haircuts on the Hirsimaki's, and Mum & I decided to take the opportunity and had our hair done too. Stephanie was very nice and did great hair
. Dad's afternoon was taken by working out how to download the videos off the video camera…… did it, finally. The little kids (Hannah, Eila, Karl, Luke and Nikolai) went for a bath in Grandma's big bathtub, that was a treat. I think the little ones would have enjoyed that!
At 10:00 am in the morning, my sister came running into my room, and she's like, "wake up Grace, we're going to make edible art!!!!! Hurry up, we can't start until you get up!" So I tumbled out of bed to go do some edible art, when I got upstairs I was face to face with a long table (and all the kids sitting around it wide-eyed) covered with bowls of all sorts of lollies (candy, as Americans call it.) There were soft lollies and hard, chocolate, marshmallows, sprinkles, icing, biscuits, pretzels, gummy bears and all sorts of sugar….. Dad was very surprising, he kept all the annoyance of his kids face to face with "the devils invention" (as Dad calls it) to himself, and let us take part in this fun activity, on one condition; that no one eats ANY of the candy….hmmm. I guess we don't need it, otherwise we'll come back to Oz looking like elephants! :P
